Cooperative Principle number 7: In keeping with the Cooperative Principles, Rio Grande routinely helps support worthy causes. Such was the case recently when the Co-op was approached by the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce to be a sponsor of their annual Comanche Springs Rodeo.
The rodeo is an annual event and 1 of the biggest fund-raisers for the Chamber of Commerce. It draws rodeo athletes and spectators from all over West Texas and New Mexico. The Comanche Springs Rodeo is sanctioned by several professional organizations, including the United Professional Rodeo Association, the Cowboys Professional Rodeo Association, and the New Mexico Rodeo Association.
The rodeo will be held March 20 through 22, at the Pecos County Coliseum, with Family Night on Friday night with free admission for kids. A dance will be held on Saturday following the rodeo performance.
