Agricultural & Timber Exemptions Expiring

The Texas Comptroller's office will be mailing renewal notices this month to those who have agricultural and timber exemptions on file with their office. “All Ag/Timber numbers currently held will expire on December 31, 2023. You must renew your number to continue to claim an exemption on qualifying agriculture and timber purchases made after that date,” the notice reads in part. The renewal notices will be sent to the mailing address on file, and you can renew your Ag/Timber number when you receive the notice. Those who are currently tax exempt and do not provide RGEC with a copy of a new exemption certificate by January 31, 2024, will be charged tax beginning with the February 5 billing statement. Certificates can be uploaded to our secure web portal by scanning the code below, or dropped off at any RGEC office, emailed to us, or mailed to:
