RIO GRANDE ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE will hold its 81st Annual Meeting virtually Saturday, October 10, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM (CDT). Registration opens Monday, September 28, 2026, at 8:00 AM (CT).

Members are encouraged to register and join the virtual Annual Meeting for reports and the transaction of other Cooperative business that may properly be presented by the membership.

Emcee for the day will welcome members and introduce the Cooperative’s Board leadership to call the meeting to order. The meeting will include the National Anthem, the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, and an Invocation, followed by instructions for participating virtually and responding through the available meeting features.

Members will also hear reports from the Board President, Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Executive Officer, along with other updates on the Cooperative’s operations and activities.

The 2026 Director Election will include candidates nominated to fill four director vacancies created by the expiration of specified terms of office, retirement, or other circumstances. The nominated candidates are:

Director District 2A:
No nominations were received by the July 5, 2026, deadline.

Director District 5:
Billy Foster (Incumbent)

Director District 6:
Damon Harrison (Incumbent)
Rowdy Holmsley

Director District 8:
Bryon Garrison (Incumbent)
Paul Golliner

Voting on the election of directors and on any issue required by law or the Articles of Incorporation will be conducted by postal or electronic ballot, as authorized by the RGEC Board of Directors. All results of any such election or voting upon any other issue shall be certified and announced at the annual meeting of the members or at a special meeting. Both paper and electronic ballots must be received by October 7, 2026, in order to be counted.

Members will have an opportunity to hear updates by Board President Jamie Ballew, and the Treasurer’s Report by Board Treasurer Howard Wakefield and Chief Financial Officer Angel Narvaez, and CEO report by Theresa Quiroz. Emcee Conrad Dalton introduced the 2026 RGEC Sharing Success Grant recipients. Participate in the meeting virtually. Additional meeting information, including instructions for participating and voting, will be provided to members prior to the meeting.

Mrs. Jamie Ballew adjourned the meeting, before emcee Conrad Dalton announced the remaining prize winners, including 10 – $250 credit on accounts, 2 – $500 Visa gift cards, and the grand prize – a retired Ford F150.
